The Mandalorian Chapter 14: The Tragedy Review

This Review contain spoilers!

The Mandalorian Season 2 is flying by and has delivered on the high expectations that the first season set, but before we get to this Fridays episode we are taking a look back at Chapter 14: The Tragedy, which is perfectly named for what takes place in this chapter.

Chapter 14: The Tragedy is one of the shortest chapters so far of The Mandalorian (I believe it could actually be the shortest chapter so far) and whilst that worried me a little bit, personally I would love 60 minute long chapters but this chapter certainly delivers in such a short runtime and having a short runtime worked extremely well as it allowed the story to move forward without any waiting around.

Not only in this chapter do we get Grogu (The Child) on the seeing stone, but we have the full return of Boba Fett, Fennec Shand (from season 1 of The Mandalorian) and the return of Slave 1. Seeing Slave 1 on the screen was incredible but it is the full return of Boba Fett that impresses the most as he dons his famous armour and assists The Mandalorian in defending Grogu from the looming Imperial Forces. As fans we have been waiting for Boba Fett in action, compared to his more toned down appearance in the original trilogy. The comics have hinted at Boba in action but this chapter truly shows Boba Fetts skill set as he easily takes down the majority of the Imperial forces without any problems, even taking down two Imperial transport ships which closely match an early design of the First Order Troop Transports which is a nice inclusion. Fennec Shand also returns and is worthy inclusion as a sharpshooter and assists The Mandalorian and Boba in defending Grogu, but I personally would have liked more time developing her backstory rather than a quick couple of lines but I am sure we will get more of this in the last two chapters in season 2.

Whilst Boba certainly steels the show and he honestly truly deserves the limelight but this chapter introduces us to Moff Gideons Dark Troopers which look great on the screen and have a great Iron Man style moment flying down from Moff Gideons ship to snatch Grogu which highlights the "tragedy" element of the episode with Moff Gideon now in possession of Grogu and also having to watch The Razor Crest being blown to pieces by Moff Gideon's ship it certainly was a heart breaking end to the chapter and is leading us on a revenge / rescue mission to rescue Grogu from Moff Gideon by a group led by The Mandalorain.

Honestly, this is leading to two amazing finale chapters for season 2 and I am extremely excited to see where this will go in the last two chapters of this season.

For such as short chapter it certainly did not disappoint in any way and brings about another very strong chapter in The Mandalorian series. Season 2 keeps getting better and better.

Verdict: 5 / 5 Stars
