The Mandalorian Chapter 15: The Believer Review

This review contains spoilers!!

Today we are taking a look at The Mandalorian Chapter 15: The Believer. We are nearing the end of season 2 and stakes are getting higher as The Mandalorian and team are on the hunt for Moff Gideon and Grogu (The Child).

Chapter 15: The Believer is essentially another side mission style chapter, but rather than it being a side mission just for the sake of it, this side mission holds importance and relevance to the overall narrative moving forward as this mission involves The Mandalorian, Boba Fett, Cara Dume, Fennec Shand and Mayfield break into an Imperial bunker to find the location of Moff Gideon's ship where Grogu is being kept. The main chunk of the chapter actually focuses on Mando and Mayfield as they sneak their way into the Imperial bunker disguised as Imperial forces (its a classic Star Wars infiltration story at this point with the heroes in Imperial armour) but it is Mayfield who really gets the chance to shine in this chapter after returning from his appearance in chapter 6 of season 1 of The Mandalorian, this chapter really gives some depth to Mayfields character as we find out that Mayfield was in service during the time of Operation Cinder (if you have played Star Wars Battlefront 2 story mode, you will be very aware of the events of Operation Cinder) and how he has now turned his back on his previous life serving the Empire.

The also big moment in this Chapter was the moment when The Mandalorian had to remove his helmet (this time imperial helmet) to gain access to one of the Imperial terminals. Seeing the internal struggle this causes was great to watch and how awkward and uncomfortable he became really shows how much of his life has been hidden behind his helmet. Mayfield constantly through both season 1 and season 2 has teased Mando in regards to his belief and his helmet but Mayfield gives Mando a helmet to put on as soon as he can to ease his uncomfortableness which is a nice moment and development for the character.

Of course this chapter is filled with action from the opening chase sequence involving Mando and Mayfield in a Juggernaut style vehicle being chased by pirates, to a showdown in the Imperial bunker to a very brief moment of Slave 1 destroying two TIE Fighters with a seismic charge that will please fans of the scene in Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones with Jango Fett pulling a similar move on Obi-Wan.

This chapter certainly does set the stage for this weeks finale but there is a lot to cover in the finale so i can personally see the finale being a cliff hanging which leads into season 3.

Verdict: 4 / 5 Stars
