The Mandalorian Chapter 13: The Jedi

This review contains spoilers!

Welcome back to another review, not just any review a review on The Mandalorian Chapter 13: The Jedi, now we have all heard the rumours and the expectations of this season but this is the episode where all those rumours and expectations happen surrounding a certain character's appearance.

Now I am a huge fan of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated TV series and followed it when it started with the release of the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars film. The rumours of Ahsoka Tano making an appearance was an exciting prospect, one I hoped they would pull if and all I can say is.... yes Ahsoka makes her live action debut (if you don't count her voice debut in Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker) in this chapter and certainly steals the limelight in this chapter. Ahsoka is played in live action by Rosario Dawson who manages to capture an older version of Ahsoka perfectly. The makeup is perfect but it is the way in which Rosario Dawson captures Ahsoka's movements not just when she is walking but when fighting with her duel white lightsabers. Rosario Dawson also captures Ahsoka personality and facial traits that we see in the Clone Wars TV series perfectly and really helps to pay homage not just to the character but to the original voice actor Ashley Eckstein, who voiced Ahsoka during the Clone Wars and Rebels TV series.

Not only do we get Ahsoka in this episode we also get a tone of reveals based around The Child, with The Child's official name being reveled for the first time (which is Grogu) and more information about Grogu's past being trained in the Jedi Temple during the event of the Clone Wars and being hidden away in the temple during the siege and the Jedi purge... who by you might ask? well that is hopefully another story for another day.

The actual chapter is very well paced from start to finish, we get some exciting action sequences with Ahsoka to begin with, then some exposure with The Mandalorian, The Child (Grogu) and Ahsoka helping to establish backstory and deliver some hints at what the future could hold for the pair and to finish the chapter off an action sequence / heist that really shows off the western influences that really establish The Mandalorian in the Star Wars Universe.

Oh and how can I forget that Grand Admiral Thrawn reference (I was honestly jumping with joy). Does this mean we can expect an appearance on Grand Admiral Thrawn in live action, one can only hope but it may also be setting up a spin off show for Ahsoka herself or even a sequel to Star Wars Rebels.

Verdict: 5 / 5 Stars
