The Mandalorian Chapter 12: The Siege Review

This Review contains spoilers!

The Mandalorian season two is definitely heating up with character and plots reveals driving the story forward leading to where you might ask?...well we are soon going to find out.

The Mandalorian Chapter 12: The Siege takes us back to where The Mandalorian first started back in season 1 and brings The Mandalorian and The Child back with Greef Karga and Cara Dune as they take on the task of destroying an Imperial base which actually turns out to be an Imperial laboratory giving us as the audience an insight into what the Empire were wanting to do with The Child.

The chapter from the get go is a well-paced episode, allowing for a brief interaction as the group of characters are brought back together and we find out what Greef Karga and Cara Dune have been up to since the finale of season 1, but then jumps straight into the heist to destroy the Imperial laboratory, which in itself gives us some great action sequences and some major reveals with us finding out the Imperial scientist seen in season 1 was extracting some of The Child's blood for its M count with the hope to create living beings with potential force abilities, could this be the origin story of how Supreme Leader Snoke is created? and possibly how the Emperor survived in a cloned body? we will have to wait and see but it was a great reveal and one that will have major implications moving forward.

One of the stand out elements to this episode was of course the action sequences involving our heroes escaping in an Imperial vehicle being chased by Scout Troopers on BARC speeders and eventually being chased by four TIE Fighters in the canons which looked visually fantastic and kept you on the edge of your seat throughout the episode.

For those expecting the reveal of the live action Ahsoka Tano in this chapter you might be disappointed with what essentially becomes another side adventure, but the reveals in this chapter and the set up with the return of Moff Gideon really does set the stage for what I am hoping to be a fantastic second half of the season.

Verdict: 4 / 5 stars
