WandaVision Episode 1 - Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience Review

Our First MCU content since Spider-Man: Far From Home is finally here in the form of WandaVision, the first in what appears to be a long line of Disney + MCU content directly connected to the ever expanding MCU.

Now WandaVision is without a doubt the most out there MCU project so far and that is certainly going to divide the fan base with its sitcom feel and staged comedic moments which won't please everyone, but the show has a certain charm to it, whilst paying tribute to classic American sitcoms as it jumps through era to era with each episode (certainly up until episode 6) basing its stylistic tones on certain sitcoms which is an interesting idea in itself.

Personally, this episode really captures Wanda and Visions relationship living there happy lives in the suburban housing living the perfect American dream whilst also trying to fit in and hide their powers from the rest of the town and their neighbors. There are lots of theories going around with what is actually happening for instance is this is a reality created by Wanda Grieving or is Wanda being manipulated in some one but I am certainly gripped and looking forward to finding out what happens moving forward.

Of course with any Marvel content there is a ton of Easter eggs throughout the episode and these are well hidden and only the eagle eye Marvel fan will probably find them, of course there are some obvious ones including a well done add break including a reference to Stark industries, but the creators behind the project have sprinkles Easter eggs in the background which will keep Marvel fans interested to see if there are any clues as to what could be coming moving forward.

Overall WandaVision Episode 1 is a good introduction to the series and sets the tone and wacky style that we can come to expect from at least the sitcom style episodes moving forward and plus it is great to actually getting new MCU content after the lack of content due to the pandemic over the last year.

Verdict: 4 / 5 stars
